Caddyshack in a Day: Team Klinward

Congratulations to Team Klinward did the entire Caddyshack Tour in 1 day, morning to evening, including the big 19th hole bush-whacka-cache as the grand finale. The series takes you from bouncing around from Martinez, to Clayton, to Orinda, to Danville, to Dublin, to Pleasanton -- and to finally finish the whole big adventure back in Blackhawk. They are the 7th team to finish the series (see Leaderboard for detail).

When we setup the series, we didn't really think that anyone would attempt to do it all in a day -- it's a lot of driving. However, Team Klinward took off one Friday, into the teeth of a commute traffic, fueled by Starbucks and a Geocaching need for extreme accomplishment -- a nailed them all down... Frankly, none of the caches are very challenging - a few hides may take time for people to find, hidden in plain site, yet very difficult to see -- but the final cache, the 19th hole, is intended to be a tough one, ditched up in the hills over Blackhawk Country Club. The hike isn't all that long, but it's up, and then some down, steep, slippery, bushwhacked all the way, and then back out again... Several teams have done it -- but Team Klinward did it late in the evening, after driving between 18 other destinations (see attached route).

Interestingly enough, GRH1 recently ran into Team Klinward, as we both chased after a local FTF opportunity in Las Trampas. All 4 of them, kids including, were trudging up one of the Las Trampas trail, flashlights in hand, chasing after a evil cache up there... Group Success.
